ANZAC Day (25th April)

Not sure if anyone will be interested or not but tomorrow is ANZAC Day when Australia & New Zealand remember the servicemen and women that have given their lives (originally from the Gallipoli campaign of WW1 and now covering all conflicts). I will be popping down to the Australian War Memorial at Hyde Park Corner for the dawn service @ 0500 and then to the cenotaph for the 11.30 service.

Re: ANZAC Day (25th April)

Can't be there myself, but I will be remembering Anzac Day.

Did you ever see the mini-series Anzacs?
The movie Gallipoli is awesome too.

Both put over, imo, how brutal WW1 actually was.

Re: ANZAC Day (25th April)

Both are awesome films/programs. I had the privilege to know and meet a Gallipoli veteran in the early eighties @ school (IIRC he was well into his 80's if not 90+) Bill was 22 when he signed up and was shipped to the UK and then onto Gallipoli for the landings it was most humbling to have met him.
