Never once said that. Ever. I said it brought nothing to the PC. It's fine for consoles, I get that, it done some things for consoles, I get that. I however, am not a console gamer by nature, I play one in my spare time sometimes, I don't even have a console right now.

I said it brough nothing to PC, and as a PC gamer, I stand by that. It's a distinctly average game, the score of 5 on a 1-10 scoring system denotes average to me, therefore I agree with the review.

It's been instrumental to consoles, which again, has nothing to do with what I've been saying.

I ignored the rest of your post, as like I said, I've been talking about PC gaming the entire time, and every point you made was about consoles, which has nothing to do with what I've been saying.

Re: Halo: Reach

I have played Halo 2, it was so mind numbingly boring I had to punch myself in the face to make sure I was still alive and my brain hadn't turned into goo.

Re: Halo: Reach

Well if you were actually around long enough you could have reviewed this yourself. But as it fell to me with no one being around then that's the review that stands.

Reach showed me nothing new, no new elements that show why this is was a multi-million dollar franchise, it is essentially the same cookie cutter framework that has existed since Halo CE.

I've grew up with FPS, from Doom to current day, I've seen huge advances in the genre and it's this experience I call upon when playing FPS games, NOT ONCE did Reach give me a moment of "oh that's nice".

I see the problem being one of a generation gap, there are millions of gamers that have not experienced the same games I have, they've grown up primarily with consoles and this is what they're used to, they probably haven't played an FPS with more complexity outside of Halo or Call of Duty. They've never had the sheer openness of Deus Ex, the raw adrenaline rush of Counter-Strike unless they had an original Xbox. The sheer colossal volumes of user created content with Doom, Duke 3D, Half-Life, Half-life 2, the modders who have the creativity to go out and try something new.

Brink is another fine example of the PC/console gamer divide, it's an awesome game on PC as we're used to team based or tactical FPS titles, console gamers are more used to the Deathmatch/Team Deathmatch style of multiplayer so the team based nature of Brink didn't work as well on consoles IMO, though it didn't help that Brink was buggy as f*ck initially.

Finally, with myself primarily being a PC gamer a keyboard/mouse control system is so much more preferred over a pad, no arguement in this world can prove otherwise. While control pads do a functional job with the genre, you cannot recreate the reactions and accuracy of mouse movements on an analogue stick and until consoles can match a kb/mouse feel then PC's will be the primary format for FPS titles as they give a richer and more fulfilling experience.

Oh and you're also forgetting that Halo was originally intended to be a Mac title, then for PC so your "instrumental" title was stolen from PC gamers by Microsoft. So it's funny to think where the Xbox would be now if it wasn't for a PC game.

The opinions expressed in this post are purely that of my own and nothing to do with "GameOn Networking Ltd" unless otherwise stated.

This.

I sat and I played through Halo: Reach with Wedgeh and I am a console gamer, only recently moving to PC. And my god, what an utter yawnfest it was. Not to mention broken, crappy AI - especially when driving cars, predictable story was predictable and the gameplay itself...was nothing new whatsoever.

I looked at Halo: Reach from a complete noob standpoint, I have never played any of the other Halo games in the series, so my perspective was one of someone coming into the series fresh, I was looking around to find these innovations and I just couldnt see them at all, what I saw was an every day shooter set in futuristic war torn generistan.

As previously mentioned, the majority of users here are PC users so of course they are going to be a little harsher on the game, especially if all the things that are considered fresh and innovative now in Halo were done years back in another PC FPS.
