Reformatting through xp?

So I want to wipe the entire hard drive of everything including XP so that I can install vista. Never had to do this before, only ever had to install on a newly built PC. Any help appreciated, thanks.

Re: Reformatting through xp?

Right Jack, MS tends to make this bit easy.

if your sure you have nothing on your system that you want to backup (note you will lose everything).

simply pop the vista cd in your drive and restart...at the prompt "Press key to boot from cd" press...you guessed it...any key.

This will kick start the vista installation wizard.

I've never gone through the vista setup myself so dont know how it differs from XP.

Its pretty self explanatory to follow the questions asked to perform a clean install ignoring any previous versions of windows.

make sure when asked you format using NTFS...and that is pretty much is. (quick format or not doesnt make much diff to be honest)
