I'll just leave this here: http://www.gamegrin.com/game/review/...box-360-review

I'm sure Wedge sums up most on this forums opinion on it.

Put it this way, im horrible at FPS, let alone console FPS and i managed to get to the 6th mission of the mediocre generic yawnfest that is the Halo campaign in 2 hours. I just gave up shortly afterwards before I passed out through boredom.

I played it for about two hours after my mate rented it out.. After that, we got bored and watched Tarzan. I enjoyed that much more than I enjoyed Halo. Nuff Said.

Re: Halo: Reach

I rather enjoyed Halo Reach to be honest. The story felt slow at times sure, and graphically it may still be bound by the limitations of the Halo 2 physics engine, but the multiplayer is still a blast and one of the most complete packages on a console, the story mode has 4 player co-op and plenty of replayability through scoring and skulls, and at least it rewards you with unlocks and XP no matter what mode you choose to play.

Sure, they'll always be people (especially PC gamers) who try and put the series down, but the numbers don't lie. Nearly 1 million people play it every day, and it's one of the most successful franchises of all times. Haters gonna hate.

And honestly, the 5/10 score just shows the reviewer had made up his mind before he even picked up the controller, it's so laughably out of step with popular opinion. But hey, a review is a personal opinion, so whatever. So's this post.

Of course PC gamers are going to put it down. It's ****e when compared to the FPS' available on PC and it's nothing new. Halo and Halo 2 being widely ignored at large on PC after release is testament to this.

This is mainly a PC gamer filled forum. Expect Halo to be treated like any other franchise, not given special treatment because it's Halo.

Humour me, what FPS on PC allows you such a lofty position of superiority?

Who's asking for it to be given special treatment? I'm certainly not blinded by the franchise name to its faults (as I think I was fairly clear), I was merely pointing out that I believed the game was better than the scoreline suggested.

Note I said "the FPS'" plural, not one. Many, many FPS games on the PC have elements that Halo has, meaning Halo has nothing to bring to the table, other than yet another power armoured world saviour.

As you so rightly pointed out, it's the reviweers opinion. Not to sound like a dick, but it really doesn't matter if you agree with his score or not, doesn't matter if anybody agrees. It's his review, his score. I wouldn't expect anybody to agree with any of my scores, but I'd be pretty ******* pissed off if someone suggested my mind was made up about something before I played the game.

I intended for the FPS to mean plural. I was asking for suggestions. Halo has brought plenty of firsts to the gaming marketplace over the years, Halo 1 was the quintessential console FPS experience, blending shooting with vehicle combat and system link multiplayer that had't been seen before. Halo 2 remains one of the most successful online games of all time. Halo 3 introduced full theater access, file sharing on consoles and almost unlimited custom gametypes, none of which had been done on console before.

Whether PC games choose to admit it or not (and usually they don't) the Halo series has been instrumental to the gaming industry over the last decade, and has helped support MS into the 2nd best-selling console of this generation.

I don't argue that there arent games on the PC that havent done it better, or certain elements first, but to suggest that Halo brings 'nothing' to the market is a frankly ridiculous statement to make.

As you, then me, and now you again have pointed out, it's just an opinion.
