Laptop question

tbh i never thought i would be asking this (ever)
but what do you guys think of the Packard Bell Laptops

Reason i ask, just found this

i5-2430
4 Gig Ram
15"
1TB

Tbh, not after a gaming rig here, but i am after a work horse, has to work with all the day to day programs i use.
Plus will need to deal with video encoding

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2510429781...m=251042978181

Just wondering if you know of any issues with them or a reason not to buy it

Re: Laptop question

Hmmm, after working in Currys/PC World "Tech Support" I would say "Meh", had a LOT of them going back and forth to repair.

Its the usual thing of get a good one it will last, get a bad one and you might as well throw it in the bin as it will never be right EVER!

Re: Laptop question

When I worked in Tech support I had so many bad experiences with Acer returns, they may be better now but the damage is done for me.
Great if they work, night mare if you have to return em.

Re: Laptop question

perhaps http://outlet.euro.dell.com/Online/S...&puid=bfad45e7 ?

or http://outlet.euro.dell.com/Online/S...&puid=2edec2d8 - this may work out a little bit more expensive than the ebay one but it's a better laptop tbh.

The opinions expressed in this post are purely that of my own and nothing to do with "GameOn Networking Ltd" unless otherwise stated.

Re: Laptop question

If you have a bit more cash, I have been running one of these for the last 2 years, never had any problems with it.

Re: Laptop question

avoid 1366x768 screens like the plague. my toshiba has one and the lack of vertical space is astounding. try go for 1600x900 screens or even better 1920x1080 screen.
