lol, seriously tho, we had a little "contest" yesterday on the uber run (4x AA, 8x AF forced) and he got 62k and I got 66k.
In this test, the average 6800 should outdo the average X800 as the 6800 supports partial precision (16bit) when Aquamark requests it, unlike the X800s which have to do 24bit (full precision) in all situations partial precision hints or not. Bit more info here:

Quote:
What AquaMark3 does is determine which shaders can be executed in DX9 low precision without affecting their final output, regardless of what card is in the system. Since the nV3x supports low precision hints, it is able to take advantage of the performance benefit offered there. The R3x0 on the otherhand converts whatever precision it is asked to do to 24bit high precision, even if asked to do low precision calculations. Therefore, any performance benefit that might have been gained from low precision shaders is negated.
|
Obviously replacing the nV3x with nV4x and R3x0 with R4x0 as the situation is the same in this generation.
Strangley still not enough of a boost to keep up with AA applied and AF enabled.
End of the day its a bonus of the 6800 (and GeForce FX) architecture and a tribute to the cards flexibility (alongside some serious, serious power) that some people tend to forget.

Remember to get the Aquamark 3 hotfix to show next generation cards clock speeds in your public ARC link.

Isn't it in your My Documents folder even if you didn't go to the ARC?

For a GT thats not even a Golden Sample? Thats like going down two levels of performance, I dont think so, get an Ultra that does UEE speeds and *maybe* then.

nearly is not good enough, the XT PE eats the GT on a level playing field cpu wise, and can even beat it with a much less powerful CPU (P4 versus FX-55 for example) so I wouldnt want to lose any perfo really. Id need a 6800U or UEE that overclocks well to keep up with this beast at 600/600 and tbh, I dont think they'd be able to keep up even then.
Just buy a X800XT PE and stick a VGA Silencer on it then you can beat me in every test, should justify the £1,000+ uv spent on ur rig versus my sub £500 system.

New high with DNA beta 12's got me a 400 point increase.i don't think it's fair for 9500pro's to be in same thingy with 9700pro's should have umm 9500np,9500pro,9700series of cards each sperate catgory.
Hope i can break 40k with my 2500-m when it gets here monday or tuesday.
