Indie Game Recommendations

I've been playing a lot of Indie games recently as I unfortunately don't have access to my gaming computer. I've actually become hooked to SpaceChem and have found myself playing the Demo for Dwarfs quite a bit.

I'm just wondering if anyone can recommend me some other good indie games

Re: Indie Game Recommendations

If you like difficult:
VVVVVV

If you are a sado-masochist:
Super Meat Boy

Other highlights:
Frozen Synapse (pure tactical game)

Can't think of any others off the top of my head right now.

Re: Indie Game Recommendations

AudioSurf & Beat Hazard are both awesome 'to-music' games, that utilise your own music to generate the game.

BIT.TRIP.BEAT - good fun, can rile you up when you miss a few

Bob Came In Pieces - excellent, but may struggle on a too low end machine.

Chime, Eversion, Braid, Nimbus...

Should be enough there to get you going!

Doesn't Super Meat Boy need a realativly well powered machine? I'm looking for games that will run on my ****ty laptop while I don't have access to my gaming machine. I've not heard of the others though, I'll take a look.

Oh how could I forget about AudioSurf? I used to play that loads, just need to 'get' a load of new songs to play with

Re: Indie Game Recommendations

i do believe super meat boy needs a med spec PC if i recall.

A review of it here

vvvvvvvvvvvv is on discount on Steam today (till 6pm) (£1.99)

Zombie Driver is another favorite of mine
There is also a demo of it on Steam (nothing better than try before you buy)
(review here)

Post your PC spec, we might be able to see what else you can run.

According to steam the minimum requirements are:
Quote:
OS: Microsoft® Windows® XP / Vista / 7
Processor: 1.2GHz processor
Memory: 256 MB RAM
Graphics: Graphics Card that supports Pixel Shader 2.0 and Vertex Shader 2.0(Vertex Shader Support can be supported with software emulation)
And the recommended:
Quote:
OS: Microsoft® Windows® XP / Vista / 7
Processor: 1.4GHz or faster
Memory: 1 GB RAM
Graphics: Graphics Card made within the last 4 years (Pixel Shader 3.0, Vertex Shader 3.0)
So if you have an integrated gpu (Intel GMA/etc) you may have trouble.

I can play Super meatboy on my netbook with no trouble. I'm sure it will work on your laptop.

Re: Indie Game Recommendations

I am addicted to Snood these days.

You can try a number of difficulty levels, from Child to Evil, and you can play two versions of the game: Classic and Time Attack. (You can also pick from Classic or New Snoods to customize the look of your game.) In both modes, each turn you may launch a randomly selected snood into the play field. Connect 3 or more snoods together to teleport them off of the play field. Snoods can be launched directly at a target, or ricocheted off the walls for extra style points!

Re: Indie Game Recommendations

World of Goo is one of my favorites. Also I play Uplink on occasion but there are a lot of mentions here that I really need to make time for. I guess it goes to show, passion and creativity go farther than money and 100+ employees.
