Love the Borderlands art style, but was having issues with eye strain and headaches with the default setup, never had that with a game before so started to look at what i could do.
Basically ive changed the shader so thats theres no black lines, giving it more a real look, added a shortcut to change the FOV to one more suitable for 16:10 use, and reduced screen tearing through smoothing and enabling vysnc at engine level. Also removed blurs and depth of field, and bob when not sprinting.
Its come out real nice, feels more like a run down rustic semi-real world instead of a comic book feel, and it has a nice fps increase to
Due to FOV resetting when you do some actions, its bound to work alongside shift for sprinting. Just tap it once when you get ingame, and your all set, you should never see it drop back to the old FOV and if you do just tap shift again.
As said this is optimised for 16:10 use, the resolution is set at 1680 x 1050. If theres a demand for other screen sizes/resolutions post below and i can knock one up, just leave your resolution and aspect ratio.
If you need to alter the resolution in this one yourself, open willowengine.ini and change the lines resx and resy to suit you.
The files are to be placed in your My Documents/My Games/ Borderland/Willow Game/Config folder. Its recommended that you set them to read only after changing any settings ingame you need to. Also recommend that you backup your old ones first, incase you dont like it.
Have fun
