Its always one that pops up at LAN's and im sure many hop on for a quick game at home from time to time to, but the one thing that always irked me was the HUD. The default just always feels messy and busy to me, so went on a hunt for custom HUD's yesterday before a game and thought id share the best ones I came across...
ToonHUD
Very solid HUD and in the spirit of TF2 with stylised fonts that fit well, informations well presented, and its the only HUD with an auto update which is great for the lazier gamers :P Out of all the HUD's I came across this seemed to have the most 'support' and 'community' around it.
RaysHUD
Minimalistic, not as stylised as ToonHUD, but it does have ongoing support for the dying breed of 4:3 screen resolutions which is the main reason ive included it. If you're on a 4:3 setup this is the one for you.
EJPHUD
This is the HUD im personally using. Its a bit more tech/futuristic in look and feel, but the centered layout is super clear, eyes never have to leave the center of the screen, and there's no information overloads. If you're looking for maximum efficiency this is the goto HUD.
I know custom HUD's aren't for everyone, but if you're looking to switch up your TF2 screenspace a little you cant go wrong with any of the above options. Have fun!
