Good question. I originally used this name on a school LAN. My thinking was sort of that a chaplain has some sort of higher purpose than just killing, but chaplains are part of military teams. Blame the role-player in me, but I wanted a CS nick that combined a military sound with a depth of character

Well......... Twas During a SRS Lesson (social religious studies, loada crap0la)
I was reading this drugs booklet...... looking @ all the chemical names, an then i got to Extacy... MdMa.... so i just added a Z lol  MdMaZ
Then everybody started calling me MaZ, so i changed to maz, then i fancied a change so i went to MaZZa, then M00, Now everybody calls me MaZZ

My name has gone through quite a few incarnations in it's time.
Originally, I saw it written on the side of an Oasis CD as "Helter Skelter". So it was that.
Then at my first lan, Execute was helping me set up quake. And due to the fact Quake doesn't support too long names and he's from essex. It became "Helta_Skelta".
Then I wanted to make it more 1337, so for a while it was "HeLta_SkeLta". Then over time I've just lost the Skelta and the capital L.

Mine came from a lot of hard thinking (about 5 mins worth)
I was going my very first lan (at pasty's house) and I had called myself Spore Knee, never used it though (cos I'm lucky) but then realised that was a **** mane, so I wanted a name which would meen something, but also sound cool.
I was listening to alot of tunes released from the Ministry of Sound, so it became Minister Rik, but online it's generally just Minister or Mini

Mine stands for Horny Devil Boy as most of u prolly know - i got it at a party when i used to gell my hair up and it spiked around making me look like a devil - being 14 i was a boy.... but strangely enough i dont remember how the horny part got on there

well.. mine was origanly Hippie, that was about beta 6
Then i decided it sucked, and when i got Dungeon keeper 2 i chnaged my name to Reaper (the horned reaper form DK2). That was about when i joined gameon...
But i didn't like the sound of reaper, so i changed it to Devil.. simple realy
