talk talk 8meg broadband, any good?
i'm getting a bit fed up with BT, as i think i'm paying a litle over the odds for broadband and a not-that-hot download limit.

anyone got any experience of talktalk ? or any other suggestions of who to go for that's cheaper than BT ?

My boss has dealt with them for a landline. To quote him, "F**king useless c**ts." It's taken 9 months to cancel the line and it's still ongoing. Avoid like the proverbial plague.

My dad had talktalk installed at his house much against my recommendation. He spent the entire 12 months trying to get out of the contract - the broadband service is laughable (traffic shaping, port blocking etc etc). Read the adslguide.org talktalk forums to see just how 'happy' everyone is with the service!!

In short, avoid it like you would a rusty breadknife to the knackers.

get NTL Cable installed, and keep yer BT Line.

Phone BT and change ownership of the line. Kills off any encumbant ISP's or LLU operators. We had to do this when we moved to get rid of AOL (who promptly phoned the next day to enquire why their grip on the line had been rescinded).

can't get NTL as the estate i live on isn't cabled
