Is there any way to remove the posts linking to news posts on the main site from the 'new posts' section?

The new posts page is flooded with messages that just link to the related news post which I've already seen on the main site.

It'd be great if they weren't listed at all or i could filter them some way so I could just view forum posts, rather than forum posts about news posts.

You can go and make that forum as read before going to new posts. That then won't show them.
