1st/2nd line support engineer - AWESOME LONDON BASED ROLE

Must have 1st/2nd line support experience.
JOB PURPOSE
Provide an excellent standard of service (1st and 2nd line support) . The calls will require management against levels of service agreed with the business. Given the high profile nature of the user community, it will be essential to provide a high level of service, personalised as necessary.
The candidate will also provide administrative support to the department.
The role will be required to liaise closely with external service providers and third parties.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE• Service Desk Skills: Experience of working on a Service Desk.
• Technical Skills:
o A good working knowledge and experience required in as many of the following areas as possible: client/server application environments, MS Office, AV s/w, Symantec Ghost, VMWare, Citrix, Apple Mac, Backup software; as well as an intermediate level of hardware diagnosis of PCs, printers, modems, servers and other peripherals
o A good level of administration skills with (Win2003/XP,windows7, AD, MS Exchange)
o A basic understanding of networks (eg: TCP/IP, LANs, Wireless, VPNs)
• Service Perspective. Some experience of working with service management disciplines (eg customer, problem, change and configuration management). Strong awareness of security issues.
• Stress Handling. Calm in a crisis and ability to recognize and co-ordinate complex problems, across geographical locations. Experience with Corporate head office environments and associated business processes would be an advantage.
• Goal Orientation. Maintaining focus on agreed objectives and delivering against agreed service levels. Strong analysis and organizational skills. Good time management.
• Customer Focused. Good telephone manner, presentable, confident and able to relate to and discuss user’s problems without “blinding them with science” unnecessarily. Excellent inter-personal and communication skills.
• Delivery. Checking progress against targets and keeping records and documentation updated.
• High Motivation. Self-motivated and ability to be managed remotely if necessary.
