atx 4 prong cable and board

I have a 4 prong power cable that comes off my psu

The one on the right


I also have the conection on my motherboard. Should i connect it? I have never had this connected before and the system is working ok. Connecting it should hurt should it?

That 4 pin bit is on the end of hte 2o pin ATM connector right? and not the 4 pin aux connector on the other side of the board?

The 4 pin is next to the cpu

You can just see it on the left of the 20 pin

your mother board uses a 20 pin atx socket and that adaptor would make it a 24pin one

so dont see you needing it ive tried to use that in the other socket your talking about and it didnt work on the motherboard i ran it on

It wont fit in that hole anyhow as that plug is not designed for it, there should be a separate 4 pin connector coming out of the power supply for that plug.
