thats a great list, Thanks
Will start looking in to these games this week
Already have a DS, which i love, but, BUT only really enjoy linking up with the kids with it, so going to be using the PSP for a bit more of "Rasher's Time" rather than "Family" time

Don't be too disappointed but there is no Brokeback Mountain game.

Add Ace Combat X to that list. Grabbed it after playing Ace Combat 6 on the 360 (awesome btw) and the PSP version is pretty close and seems to be slightly more action packed if anything. Well worth checking out if you think you can handle an arcade combat flight sim. Plays really well imo, the story is all sorts of crazy but that's the Japanese for you eh?

I prefer the simpler action/puzzle type games on the PSP: Locoroco, Mercury & Mercury 2 etc. IIRC, locoroco 2 is due in the first quarter of this year
Theres a list of official sony demos available to download here: http://www.pspdemocenter.com/demos.html if you want to try before you buy.

Re: So what PSP games should i be getting
If you are into arcade games then check out the various compilations, Capcom has at least 2 with various games on them, then they also have several single type game compilations (Ghosts and Goblins-remade, Power Stone and I believe there is a Street Fighter Alpha compilation). SNK also has a couple of arcade compilations. You can get stuff like the Genesis set for even more variety (these games have different numbers of games on them, Capcom's arcade sets Reloaded and Remixed have about 20 each).
If you want stuff a little newer, try out Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords (it is on Live, PC and DS with many people preferring the DS version as the best). It is basically a two player Bejewelled game with RPG elements and you play against the computer.

Re: So what PSP games should i be getting
My recommendations would be, final fantast tactics: war of the lions, final fantasy 7: crisis core, i really enjoyed this moreso than i thought i would, locoroco, silent hill origins, phantasy star portable, rainbow 6: vagas is actually pretty good too. Thats all i can think of right now though.

Re: So what PSP games should i be getting
so much to choose from!
a few more for your collection:
both syphon filter games (3rd person shooters)
disgaea: afternoon of darkness (strategy rpg and best psp game - imo)
the lego games - star wars, indy & batman (great on psp)
field commander (strategy)
endwar (strategy)
secret agent clank (platformer)
mytran wars (very new sci fi strategy rpg)
star ocean 1 & 2 (retro rpgs)
resistance: retribution (apparently good - not played it yet)
mana khemia (interesting rpg - but one for patient people due to lots of loading screens!)
if you're OK with importing then jeanne d'arc is a fantastic strategy rpg from the US
