Re: I've just watched...
Avatar, what the big screen was made for. Absolutely stunning.

Same.
I watched Raging Bull for the first time - excellent and while De Niro's pretty much in his usual typecast role, it's actually a standout performance.

Re: I've just watched...
No Country for Old Men - Awesome, but WTF at the ending.
Moon - Quite possibly the film of 09 - clever plot, fantastically acted and great for its budget.
Ben Hur - LONG, but worth its past Oscar haul and the praise.

I'm surprised Marco, thought you would have seen more of the classics.
No Country for Old Men is brilliant, one of my favourite films. Think the ending was sad, but blame the book.
Saw Paranormal Activity the other day. While. The film was just above average horror, if you consider the budget it is truly amazing what they pulled off.

To be honest man, the list of films / the DVD pile I have is insanely huge. I'm an avid lover of cinema (probably more than games now) and I'm just scratching the surface.
EDIT: That's why I started this thread, so I can keep track of worthy films.

Re: I've just watched...
I watched Moon recently 9/10 from me.
I also checked out Street Kings which I have to say I really enjoyed. Just the right amount of everything to keep me interested to the end. 8/10
Looking forward to Avatar on the big screen in 2010!

Re: I've just watched...
Just seen Avatar 3d, gonna give it a 7 out of 10, visually it was amazing, truly amazing in 3d, however the plot was a let down for me, it was so predictable I felt like I had seen it before.
Still worth a watch just for the visuals.

Universal Soldier: Regeneration
7/10 from me. Decent no-brainer action flick. Pipe and shotgun ftw.

Re: I've just watched...
The Transporter. It's a good movie but it started to go downhill after the terrible oil slick fight scene. Horrific ending and average special effects.

Re: I've just watched...
Smoking Aces 2 is shocking, avoid unless you really have time to kill. A real let down because the original was half decent.
Armored isn't to bad, 7/10 from me.

Re: I've just watched...
I watched Threads last night after seeing Az mention it a fair few times on here. I'd never seen it before and it was fantastic. By that, of course, I mean it had the desired effect, it was actually disturbing to watch sometimes. I imagine it would have much more impact at it's original time and if I stayed anywhere near the area in question, but it was still a damn good watch.
