Waking Life, it was amazing in a strange and almost euphoric way.

I know this is a bit of a necro, but i watched these film in consecutive weekends recently, i loved both films for entirely different reasons, without spoiling them i felt a real sense of sickness in the test facility and was absolutely enthralled by the isolation of Moon, if you have not seen either yet make it a priority!

Re: I've just watched...
The Boondock Saints 2, while I'm still surprised they gave Troy Duffy a second chance it's a worthy sequel, not quite as awesome as the first one but it comes pretty damn close.

Yeah I'm really hoping they'll do a third film, even if it takes another 10 years.

it will be full of zimmer frames (on screen and in theatres) if they take as ****ing long for the 3rd, mind you we dont want it thrown together so if it takes that long to come up with something that was as good as the 2nd one i guess we will let em

Re: I've just watched...
In-flight movies I watched...
District 9
I finally got around to watching this movie and I must say I was blown away by how good it is. It is by far the best movie of last year, in my humble opinion. There is literally nothing about it that I didn't like. The special effects are some of the best I've seen, especially when you consider the relatively modest budget for the movie. The aliens are convincing, and I particularly loved the fact they sported tatted clothing to make them distinguishable from one another. The racism metaphor might dampen other people's enjoyment of the movie but I found it extremely effective, particularly in the opening scenes.
Up
A surprisingly pleasant movie that refreshingly breaks away from the typical Pixar formula (ok, not so much breaking away as chipping slightly away). Fantastic visuals and a brilliant sense of humour throughout. Made me literally laugh out loud, one of only three or four occasions that has happened on a plane (I tend to force myself to keep a straight face lest I alarm nearby passengers)
The Invention of Lying
I hate Ricky Gervais. I think he is talentless, unfunny, and irritating. That said, I thoroughly enjoyed this movie. While 90% of the humour is very predictable (and to be honest even reading the premise of the movie will let you accurately guess most of the gags) it has a story that I genuinely found intriguing, particularly when the religious satire kicks in. The only complaint I'd have is that the religious satire is occasionally a tad forced (such as the protagonist looking like Jesus in one scene.. seriously dude, learn some bloody subtlety) but it kept me enthralled throughout.

Re: I've just watched...
The Marine 2 - Pretty good actually.
Suroprised as itrs a WWE movie with Ted Dibiase Jnr in the lead role. As a wrestler I was expecting a pretty poor performance. But as it turns out he is a good Action Movie actor.
The film is in the vein of the 80s action movies of Sly Stallone and Arnie.
Good for a night in with a few beers etc. lol.
