Publishers can however choose to still charge you to trade in their games.

Basically Microsoft are like "well we designed it so that people can charge, but WE'RE not actually charging..." finger of blame pointing elsewhere.

Sad thing is, it will end up reflecting badly on devs, who will suffer cos money hungry pubs will be charging copious amounts of coin for games that have been lovingly toiled on by the developers, who will then have no say on whether their game is free or not.

I was wondering if they may have missed a detail on the "24 hour check in" thing - it mentions that 'feature' surrounded by notes that talk about the games from the cloud. Would it not make masses of sense to by-pass that check you know, if I had the disc still in the console. Surely that's proof enough that I have it... :|

So what if you go on holiday and cant check in on Xbox for a week, will it set on fire and no longer be usable?
Come on Sony, you have a great chance here to make Playstation great again, You already won the hardware battle, 50% faster graphics, the gaming side of the software looks won, sort the rest out and Playstation is king once again!
