The Spoony Experiment
(I'm not totally sure where to post this if I'm honest)
Has anybody checked this guy out? He's incredibly funny and does movie and game reviews. His review of Final Fantasy 8 is solid gold in video format!

Re: The Spoony Experiment
Firstly, I can nearly guarantee that Widgeh didn't check it out.
Secondly, thirty seconds of a review that spans, in all of it's parts, roughly an hour is really not enough to check.
Thirdly, I do apologise, I didn't realise sharing things I'm interested in was bad... I figured a gaming forum would like what I find to be very funny reviews.

Re: The Spoony Experiment
firstly, you're wrong.
secondly im not going to sit through 8 ******* video's of some obnoxious fat handed **** from the united states of great america land blabbering on about FF8 "oh why did square completely change the plot, this doesnt make sense, yet the fanboys will buy anything that square push out"
thirdly, go back to shamelessly playing the arcade games and licking ginger people.
fourthly, i'd rather sit through the incoherent ramblings of NBK than this.

Re: The Spoony Experiment
In that case, watch his significantly shorter review of The Thing or his FMV Hell videos. They're good fun

Hold on mate, what's going on, he's only expressing his views, there is nothing wrong with that, and there is no need to get me involved with this either

If anything Wedgeh is the most methodical member of GameOn when it comes to reviews, posts and links. IMO the whole point of a review is to try and grasp the reader within the first 30 seconds, thus making them stay for the rest, the guy didn't do it very well (yes I did watch the whole thing and now feel sick!!).
As for sharing things that are of interest to you, go ahead but be warned GameOn has some Rules and Conditions that you should of read when joining, part of that is linking to other gaming sites (or other sites that do the same things as GameOn). If your not willing to follow those rules then ...
... and the rules apply to everyone, I'm simply stating them.

Re: The Spoony Experiment
I took a look at that review and while I didn't watch all of it 2 mins was more then enough for my verdict and I agree with Wedgeh.
Why an earth would anyone want to view an hours worth of video for a review when you can borrow a copy of someone or just rent it and find out for yourself.
I am a final fantasy fan but even I have to say VIII was a huge let down for me.
Instead of being a funny review its actually quite painful to watch and after 2 mins that was enough for me.
He tries to be the Jeremy Clarkson of game reviews but fails miserably.

Re: The Spoony Experiment
I'm afriad I have heard of him prevoiusly and I do find him histerial and so do some of my friends.
I heard about him from Zero punctuatoin creator Yahtzee, when he said that he was one of the people who motivated him to start doing reviews. (on his blog!)
So if you dont like it np! But just give some respect as the great Yahtzee of ZP said he helped inspire him

Guessing you clicked through in the same interview I did
Glad someone else likes him. You seen his movie reviews? The Wicker Man is one of the most brilliant things I've ever read

Seems he only inspired Yahzee to make review that people could sit through without wanting to hunt the reviewer down and ram their fecking webcam and keyboard down their throat....
just my....

Re: The Spoony Experiment
The Thing review is by far his best work. First time I watched that I was in tears, but some of it does vary massivly.

Re: The Spoony Experiment
Yeah, but The thing one is still his best. HIs movie commentaries are a bit long however and I only got 40 minutes into Starship troppers before losing interest.

Re: The Spoony Experiment
I was watching Starship Troopers while listening to it and it's very funny. The timing went a bit out of synch though, probably 'cos he reviews the DVD and I was watching the VHS (meaning no scene changes to slow down the movie).
I lol'd several times.
His movie reviews are brilliant though - amazing to read.

Re: The Spoony Experiment
I had him as 'a friend' on GameTrailers, because I actually enjoyed The Thing review, he stopped posting his videos and didn't realise he had an official site.
