Personally I love women in Geeky TV shows, because, they always feel, a little artificial. They are in roles and positions which are made female due to need to have females in the show. They are always extremist people.
So'and'so was the best at her class in "fill in specialist" meaning she is a geek with no social skills, infact littered in many sci-fi programs are women with no social skills, but who are exceedingly (playboy material) attractive, who have that buffed holywood shine, and then the geeky/outcast member of the cast falls in love with them and tries to socialise them.
And these women have to be everything as well, the caring person, the macho type, the logical thinker...all the time, where as the more male dominant cast generally gets brocken down into actuall characters, instead of a walking page3 assest, with bad social skills to cover up sometimes just aweful acting, and carries the weight of displaying to some men their dream women, (who is usually shallow in character).

on alot of films where there main character is geeky they are always really hot... i aint complaining dont get me wrong, but surely c'mon irl tis not like this

Women with brains are much better as you can have decent chats with them. I used to have a saying when talking about one of my less inteligent girlfriends.

"if I wanted a decent conversation then I talk to my mates"

she was good in bed though

Most of the bird in Geeky stuff are pretty hot but because they are in good looking / in skimpy stuff. The fact they are in a SCI FI etc type program does not really come into it.

I also never liked Gillian Anderson. She looks nice sometimes but no more than that.

What always amuses me about Hollywood is when they want to portray a woman as geeky and/or unattractive they take a gorgeous woman and put glasses on her.
Velma in Scooby Doo 2 comes to mind....quite frequently.
