Re: Sci-Fi Short 'The Gate' To Become Feature Film

This isn't the first time a short film has been adapted into a feature film. Neill Blomkamp's mini "Alive In Joburg" was transformed into "District 9" and look how that turned out.

"The Gate" was pretty brilliant in my opinion and I love that it didn't do what most short films try to do: be too ambitious. They assume that you can make a film on the same size and complexity that you can with a two-hour blockbuster and you simply can't.

But this proved that you don't need alot to be great. I am really, really excited to see the adaptation of this and will keep my eyes open in the coming months. And if it all works out, this director could be one to watch.
