Hey all, first post. I am also from California, helluva long ways away. Anyways, I don't use a joystick for this game, but I do use a pretty decent mouse which works well in this environment, the mx518 by logitech. The main reason this is a good mouse is that it has on the fly adjustable mouse sensetivity. One of the biggest drawbacks is using some fine sensitivity for gun aiming, then jumping into a tank and having to push your mouse a country mile to turn around. Well, with this mouse you can just up the sens with a click of a button over the wheel. It's incredibly useful for flying because those tight turns are much easier with greater sens. You can also adjust this in your options and settings, however, so meh.

The difference is the settings in options dont work so uniquely - Settings for 'helicopter' are universal, so gunning in the helicopter has the same sensitivity as flying the helicopter, which is a real problem when you fly with a 20+ sensitivity (i think - about 80% up the scale) Mx518 i believe can bypass this limitation

My Zboard keyset arrived the other day. It's rather good. I'll let you have a go at the lan.
As it's so different you get used to using different keys to the ones you would normally use quite quickly. In fact I can switch between the BF2 keyset and the normal one and still find everything easily.

Hmm sure looks interesting, Betty had one of these last LAN and it looked cool! Not too expensive either!

In BFC I used mouse for choppers and joystick only for planes.

BF2, my MS Sidewinder FF2 is doing OK for planes and choppers atm.
I think planes without a joystick is a severe disadvantage, just the turning circle is the difference between life and death.

But choppers with the stick are pretty hard....they seem so much harder to control than in DC, less responsive and all a bit 'fluffy'! Throttle response is poo in all aircraft and helos I think....... maybe i need to play with the settings a bit to get it right......

nah throttle is ok in all aircraft, just ur used to DC's instant thrust..

all aircraft in BF2 need time to warm up
